Max is muggleborn so when her letter arrived her parents were very shocked. Max ended up going to Hogwarts and did very well, graduating with flying colors. She now would like to become the muggle studies teacher so that she can teach others about how Muggles live so they can appreciate how hard it would be to not have magic.
